The MMWC of the Chruch of Christ

       The Mississippi Ministers' Wives' Conference of the Church of Christ (MMWC) blossomed from the hearts of Sisters Marilyn Graham, Robin Nettles, and LaWanda Wallace while attending the inspiring and exciting 1996 National Ministers' Wives' conference held in Chicago, Illinois. The morning session at the Chicago conference was spiritually edifying and impactful upon our lives.  After the morning session, while on the elevator going up to our rooms to prepare for lunch, we began discussing the possibility of having a conference in Mississippi.  Later that evening, we came together in one room, discussing, and preparing for such a conference in Mississippi for the following year.  We felt it was a dire need for our Ministers' Wives in Mississippi throughout part of this fellowship. After we returned to Mississippi and once again discussed our thoughts among ourselves, and sought guidance from our husbands; they approved to be our "Covering" for this ministry.

          We began preparing, strategizing, and implementing our ideas for this wonderful endeavor for the edification of Ministers' Wives across the state of Mississippi.  Although, met with great opposition initially, we kept pressing forward to ensure that ministers' wives throughout the state of Mississippi would be able to experience what was experienced in Chicago. Finally, with diligent, zealous spirits and the support of our husbands and congregations, we began contacting other ministers' wives encouraging them to join this ministry. As a result of much diligent effort, the seed of our conference -once only a Magnolia blossom this ministry became a Magnolia flower in full bloom October 3-5, 1997, at the Ramada Inn Coliseum Hotel in Jackson, MS, with 13 ministers' wives in attendance.  Speaking with much vigor and excitement, our keynote speaker-the one and only Sister Doris Dansby lovingly guided our hearts on the theme: "Bind Us Together Lord".  As a result of Sister Dansby's message of love and compassion our hearts have been knitted together with warmth and love ever since.  By the grace of God, this was the beginning of many more conferences to come with the support of our sisters- ministers' wives of the Church of Christ across the state of Mississippi. The Mississippi Ministers' Wives were privileged to assist Sister Dansby with the 10th National Ministers' Wives' Conference September 2008 in Shreveport, LA. What a wonderful journey we've enjoyed which has brought us to this day of hosting the 2024 National Ministers' Wives' Conference here in the beautiful HOSPITALITY state~Mississippi!
